– Our region is again being attacked by Ukrainian drones. As a result of the enemy attack on civilian fuel and energy facilities, Smolensk and Yartsevo districts are burning, says Governor Vasiliy Anokhin on Telegram.

It is not immediately clear what kind of facility is burning, and it has not been possible for Reuters to obtain independent confirmation of the information.

Governor Igor Artamonov of Lipetsk in southwestern Russia says a Ukrainian drone fell in an industrial area, but that no one was injured.

He does not say anything about material destruction or what was intended for the drone. Nor has Artamonov’s information been independently confirmed.

There was no immediate statement from Ukraine, which rarely comments on the attack on Russian territory. Ukrainian officials have previously said that the destruction of energy, transport and military infrastructure is undermining Russia’s war effort.
