According to the Syrian Ministry of Defence, several different areas have been attacked on the night of Friday, writes Al Jazeera.
It is currently unclear how many and who have been killed:
- According to the British-based group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), 36 soldiers have been killed in the Israeli attack, which it says was aimed at an area near weapons depots belonging to the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
- The news agency Reuters writes that they have spoken to two unnamed security sources. These say that 33 people have been killed. Among them will be both civilians and military, in addition to five Hezbollah members.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense says Israel and what it refers to as terrorist groups are behind attacks against several targets in the countryside around Aleppo around 01:45 on Friday night.
In parallel with an Israeli air strike, the Syrian Ministry of Defense says that these groups have carried out drone attacks against civilians between Idlib and the countryside west of Aleppo.
The British-based group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported earlier on Friday night about explosions near the airport in Aleppo in northwest Syria.
