On the night of Sunday, it became clear that it was Switzerland who ran away with the victory in Eurovision 2024. Nevertheless, it is Israel’s participation that created the greatest excitement for many.

– Fuck EBU

Israel’s, with artist Eden Golan and the song “Hurricane”, finished fifth with 375 points.

Israel collected points from the people, but only 52 of the points from the respective countries’ juries. Eight of these points came from the Norwegian jury.

Norway’s points to the country created reactions, and president of the MGP club Morten Thomassen stated the following to Dagbladet about the election:

– Eight points from the Norwegian jury to Israel is a bomb.

The Norwegian jury included artist Daniel Johgansen Elmrhari, music producer Lars Horn Lavik, artist Annprincess Johnson Koffa, concert pianist Gunnilla Süssmann and musical artist Lisa Stokke.

– Norway’s betrayal of Sweden

Now jury member Gunilla Süssmann breaks her silence about the election to Dagbladet.

“What I can say now is that the professional jury’s task was to find the best song, based on our professional expertise and a list of guidelines (including political independence). We have done this, and distributed the points accordingly,” writes Süssmann in an SMS to Dagbladet and continues:

As the voting is about to begin, Eurovision manager Martin Österdahl is hugely booed from the hall. The audience clearly shows dissatisfaction with the choices the EBU has made this year.

“That there are reactions is no surprise, but they should be directed elsewhere than to the professional jury. The jury’s absence of an active boycott is in no way the same as support for war”.

Süssmann also says that there will be a joint statement from the jury later.
