During TV 2’s autumn launch in 2023, the comedy drama Føkkings Fladseth was presented as one of the channel’s new comedy series. Despite good feedback, a solid fifth in VG and The humor award for “Best humor drama” – it still didn’t last for a second season, for the comedian, screenwriter and actor Henrik Fladseth, in the series which is inspired by his own life in a cross between fiction and reality. Because at the end of January, TV 2 confirmed that they would not go ahead with the award-winning series.
On Saturday evening, “Føkkings Fladseth” won the category “Best comedy drama”, during the Gullruten in Bergen.
– It is an incredible honor and pleasure to work with this group, and to receive an award for something that is quite narrow. I didn’t see that coming. Thank you very much, said Fladseth from the stage when he accepted the award.
– That’s just the way it has to be
– With two big prizes in your pocket, is it any wonder that there won’t be a new season?
– It’s sad, but that’s how it is. It’s about what people want to see, the economy and current trends. It feels a bit bad luck, but I can’t do anything but live with it, says Fladseth to Kampanje.
– TV 2 declined, but is there any possibility of getting season two of “Føkkings Fladseth” elsewhere?
– No, the season we made, we made because it could stand on its own two feet. The most annoying thing I know is people who expect a new season and create a cliffhanger that you don’t get to follow up on. The season we made, I feel we followed up in a good way, he says.
The TV comedian and actor holds no grudge against TV 2 for not having a new season.
– They do like everyone else and follow numbers, so that’s just how it has to be. Life is long and we get to make other things, he says.

– TV programs come and go, but the talents remain
Program director at TV 2, Trygve Rønningenexplains why the series that wins a gold route is scrapped by the channel.
– Not all programs will have a second season, says Rønningen to Kampanje.
He believes the theme is most suitable for one season.
– It’s the cancellation of comedians, and then I think we’d better move on with other things with Fladseth, says Rønningen, and adds that the viewing figures did not justify a new season.
– It is a factor, even though we are very happy with the series. It’s a great series and an important and fun job has been done.
Rønningen says there is a good atmosphere between TV 2 and Gullruten winner Fladseth.
– Everything is fine between us. TV shows come and go, but the talent remains. And he does, concludes Rønningen.
The series is produced by The Oslo Company for TV 2 and written by Henrik Fladseth, Øyvind Holtmon and Steinar Klouman Hallert.
