Meagan Starke (31) from Texas was for years a broke single mother who barely managed to survive on food stamps. 60 hours a week she sold pretzels to make ends meet.
Starke had piles of bills she could barely pay, and with a son aged 12 and a daughter aged 11, the family of three lived in what she describes as cramped conditions.
– We barely got by from paycheck to paycheck. Life was difficult, says Starke to the news agency Jam Press.
Crying for work
Starke says that she often cried when she got home from work because she was exhausted. She was also very worried and stressed about finances and the children’s future.
A small bright spot Starke had, however, was social media. In her free time, she made Tiktok videos: everything from herself in costumes, to videos where she shared her everyday life.
The last kroner on the card
In no time, her user attracted attention, and before she knew it, she had over 2.5 million followers. On Instagram, she also had a follower base of 360,000.
One day one of her followers came up with an idea that changed everything:
“Why not try Only Fans?”
Everything turned around
Starke took the advice and created an account in April 2020. It quickly got off to a good start:
The first month she earned 20,000 dollars, which corresponds to just under 200,000 Norwegian kroner. Then she quit her job as a pretzel seller in a second.
– I was shocked. I’ve struggled to put food on the table for years – now I can do whatever I want. I earn pork!, says Starke to Jam.

Today, the single mother earns $100,000 a month. This corresponds to NOK 983,510,000.
– It’s surreal, all of it. Before, I had to turn over the krone and think carefully before I filled up with petrol or went to the shop. Now I am completely financially independent.
Starke says the best thing about the new job is that she manages everything herself, and that everything takes place on her terms.
– I have always liked dressing up, and being a good role model for slightly “bigger” people. Now I can do what I love, but also get paid for it.
Living life
Due to the sky-high monthly income, Starke and her children can now live the life they have always dreamed of. They just moved into a mansion with a pool and have been on several luxury family vacations in both Hawaii and Colorado.

Although Starke earns good money from the new job, it has not been easy to get assistance from the family: Her mother and sister were very much against the mother of young children’s new profession at the start.
– My mother didn’t like it at all, and my sister was very judgmental. But they know how much I have struggled and they saw how good it was for us to have a better income. So they have accepted it now, she comments.
Starke says that the mother and sister have also moved into the mansion, and clarifies that the financial freedom trickles down to everyone.
– We never have to worry about a bill again, she concludes.
