On the night of Monday 1 April, Trine Wagelid was found dead in an apartment on Grünerløkka in Oslo. Her brother confirms this to Aftenposten. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

– It is a great shock to learn that my dear sister is no longer here, that she was killed in Oslo.

That is what Trine’s brother, Tom Wagelid, tells VG.

Aftenposten has been in contact with Wagelid. He does not wish to comment further on the matter. It was Ságat who spoke to him first.

Will be kept informed by the police

A man in his late 20s has been charged with murder following the incident. The man’s defender, Bjørn Rudjord, told Aftenposten on Monday that the man pleads guilty.

The man is detained for four weeks.

The brother had a longer conversation with the police in Oslo on Tuesday, writes iFinnmark. He won’t say anything about what they talked about.

– The police have said that I will be kept informed on an ongoing basis, and I agree to that, says Wagelid.

He will not make any speculations about the perpetrator or about the reason why this could happen until he himself has received more information in the case, he tells VG.

Lived in Oslo for a long time

The police have confirmed to Aftenposten that Trine Wagelid and the accused were in town before the murder took place. They must have been friends and known each other for several years.

The brother tells iFinnmark that the sister must have lived in Oslo for the past ten years. He and his sister were last together last year, during their father’s funeral.
