POLE HUNTING? It was not difficult to see which car had been on wild roads along Kopstadveien, even if the driver tried to run away by car and on foot after hitting two lampposts. Photo: VIB.

To start with the end, on Easter Sunday, Sunday 31 March 2024, UP put the 60 zone on Bispeveien under the magnifying glass, and there they discovered, as usual, several rough riders:

Seven were given simplified sentences and two had their driver’s licenses confiscated, reported the Police in the South-East: – The highest speed was measured at 89 km/h in the 60-zone.

– Blown to well above the legal value

The day before, Saturday 30 March 2024, two lampposts along Kopstadveien were hit by a car driver who turned out to be visibly drunk – the person just drove on, but the car was marked by the collisions, with one of the posts firmly planted in the bodywork.

– A woman has run from the vehicle, the police first reported, but it did not take long before they had control of what the police believed to be the correct woman driving the car, a woman in her 50s:

– The suspect blew well over the legal value and is obviously drunk, the police reported at the scene. – The driver’s license was decidedly confiscated.

Burglary and attempted burglary

There have been several reports of break-ins during Easter, including in a private residence on Skaugveien in Våle. It was discovered in the middle of the day on Good Friday: – The police have been on the scene and carried out investigations.

– A window in a door was broken and jewelery was stolen, the police reported: – We are opening a case.

On Saturday, an attempted break-in at a private residence was reported, this time in Bergsåsen in Ramnes.

Overtaking ended with an exit

There have been several accidents, one of the most violent occurred on Maundy Thursday evening on Bispeveien by Skjeggestadåsen. A car with four people parked in a field. Fortunately, everyone appeared unharmed.

– The accident occurred in connection with an overtaking. The driver was a man in his 20s, and the police have confiscated his driving licence.

– All four in the car are being examined in hospital for high-energy injuries, even though they appear to be uninjured.

Bikkje injured twelve pregnant sheep

The day before, Wednesday 27 March 2024, UP stopped a car in which the driver was suspected of driving under the influence – therefore samples were taken from him, a man in his 20s.

Even a day earlier in Easter, it was dramatic at a private address in Re, where two doe got into a barn and injured twelve pregnant sheep.

All the sheep were bitten and were taken care of by a veterinarian, while the bees were taken care of by the police.

Full emergency call for stove fire

There was a full fire call to Våle on Tuesday 26 March 2024, where there were open flames in a boiler. – The fire on the stove was discovered and averted in the count’s time by good helpers who came to visit the resident, reports the Vestfold Intermunicipal Fire Brigade (VIB).

– No spread to the ventilator. We made no effort other than to air out the smoke with a fan, says fire chief Jardar Aftret.

The resident was attended to by health personnel.

Heavy bang on Knutstadveien

On the night of Monday 25 March 2024, there was a crash on Knudstadveien between Re and Horten, where the emergency services were notified of the accident via the car’s eCall. The three in the car managed to get out after the dramatic crash:

– The collision with car protection and noise shielding has been powerful, says fire chief Thor-Arne Strand.

– In short, you can say that those in the car were saved by the safety systems and that they were well secured.
