The American actress Barbara Rush has died, aged 97. This is reported by several foreign media, including The Guardian.

The death is confirmed by his daughter Claudia Cowan (60), who is a reporter for Fox News. She tells the TV channel that she was present when her mother passed away on Sunday.
– My wonderful mother died peacefully at 05.28 this evening. (…) The fact that she chose to leave us at Easter makes sense in a way, since it was one of her favorite holidays. Now, of course, Easter will have a deeper meaning for me and my family, she said on Sunday.
She is survived by her children Claudia Cowan and Christopher Hunter.
Rush is known for his roles in 1950s films such as Magnificent Obsession and The Young Philadelphians, as well as the Sci-Fi film It Came from Outer Space from 1953.
Rush’s acting career began when she performed on stage at the Pasadena Playhouse, where she was spotted by a talent scout who signed her to Paramount Pictures in 1950.
In the same year, she debuted on the big screen in the film “The Goldbergs”, which was based on Gertrude Berg’s comedy-drama.
During his career, Rush played opposite several famous actors such as Paul Newman, Dean Martin, Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, to name a few. In 1954, she won a Golden Globe Award for her role in “It Came from Outer Space.”
