The investigation will move into a new phase after Easter, police attorney Ann Iren Svane Mathiassen tells NTB.

Now all the material obtained after the murders of Ingunn Slaatten (53), Sander Slaatten (22) and Signe Slaatten (18) will be gathered together and analysed.

The motive for the murders is still unknown. The public prosecutor acknowledges that there is a danger that people will be left with questions after the investigation has been completed.

– There is always a danger that you will not find the motive behind the murders. There is also no perpetrator here that we can interrogate, says Svane Mathiassen.

Obtained video material

She says the police have good hope of getting closer to the motive, but that it is difficult to say too much until you have reviewed the material.

During Easter, the police have been working on finalizing reports, and the investigation has slowed down a bit before it resumes in full force after the holiday.

– There is a great deal of electronic evidence to be reviewed. We have also obtained video to check the movements of those involved in the last days before the murder, says the police attorney.

Bisettes 9 April

It was on Saturday evening 23 March that the four people were found dead in their home at Torpo in Ål in Hallingdal. The police entered the home after receiving a report of concern earlier in the day from a friend of one of the killed, who had not turned up for an appointment.

The police believe the three were shot and killed by the father of the family during the night of Saturday. The father of the family, who is charged in the case, is said to have then taken his own life, according to the police. The last sign of life from one of those killed was late on Friday evening.

On Maundy Thursday, a mourning service was held in Torpo church for the local community.

On Tuesday 9 April, the murder victims will be buried in Ål church.
