Man in his 20s charged with murder in Oslo – Greater Oslo

--

The police went to a home on Grünerløkka in Oslo at 03:00 on the night of Monday. There they found a lifeless woman, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The person the police believe to be the perpetrator was also at the scene.

– The police have arrested and charged a man with the murder of a woman. The accused links himself to the act. As of now, we are not looking for any more perpetrators, writes Superintendent of Police Oscar Støversten in a press release at 07:00.

The man’s defender, Bjørn Rudjord, says that he and his client are on their way in for questioning.

– He will explain himself to the police and will probably plead guilty, he says to NRK.

The police are working to notify next of kin.

– The accused has not been formally questioned, but the police will question the accused as quickly as possible if he wishes to explain himself, writes Støversten.

The police say there is a relationship between the man and the murdered woman.

– They knew each other, but there is no question of partners or the like, says Grete Lien Metlid, head of investigation and intelligence in the Oslo police district.

No witnesses

According to incident leader Arve Røtterud, there have been no witnesses to the incident.

– We have been in contact with the neighboring apartments, but no one has received anything special, so we do not have much more information at the moment, he says.

The police want to contact people who may have heard or seen something.
