Tesla has put its robots to work

--

Tesla continues to improve what their robot Optimus is capable of. Now they are put to work after training sessions.

“Tesla is an AI company”

For Elon Musk has said Tesla is first and foremost an AI company, and with robots and robot taxis on the way, it is difficult not to agree in the longer term than in relation to the FSD launch of the cars. The company’s stock was at its lowest since January 2023 in April this year, but has recovered. One of the reasons is that, at the same time as the robot taxi, the company has accelerated the launch of a cheap car to this year instead of 2026, and a constant focus on AI.

But back to Optimus, which was last shown in February. Back then, it only went around Tesla’s premises:

Corrects own stupidity

But not many hours ago, the team uploaded a brand new video, and in it the robot does not just take a walk through the offices at the end of the clip, but first performs work tasks. The robot sees with the hardware on the inside, so no internet connection is necessary.

To be able to see the world, pick up objects and beautiful things, it only uses 2D cameras, tactile technology in the hands and pressure sensors. As you can see below, the latter is especially important when organizing battery cells – also notice how it corrects errors, by itself. The robot is trained with its own end-to-end neural network
