Samsung launches new TVs at this time of year: last year they launched QLED and OLED TVs on April 20.

Neo QLED, Neo QLED 8K and OLED

At the time, we wrote, among other things, about the QN900C 65″, then priced at NOK 57,999: “The launch of the new TVs is today. We are talking about new QLED (4 and 8K) and OLED models “filled with next-generation innovation, with a greater focus on improvements to connected and personalized experiences for the TV lover,” according to the company itself. We can deal with the “Neo QLED 8K QN900C” first, which starts at NOK 57,999 for 65″ and NOK 109,999 for 85″. It also comes in a 75-inch edition.”

Prices for the largest models:

  • 85″ Neo QLED QN900D 8K Smart TV (2024): NOK 119,990
  • 85″ Neo QLED QN90D 4K Smart TV (2024): NOK 64,990
  • 98″ Neo QLED QN90D 4K Smart TV (2024): NOK 149,990

  • 77″ OLED S95D 4K Smart TV (2024): NOK 56,990

“Neo QLED 8K stands as the flagship of Samsung’s latest TV series, equipped with the advanced NQ8 AI Gen3 processor and marks a significant leap in AI TV technology. The processor features a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that delivers up to twice the speed of its predecessor, along with an eightfold increase in neural networks from 64 to 512 – ensuring an exceptional viewing experience with sharp details, regardless of the input source,” explains Samsung in this year’s press release that also launches QLED 4K screens from 55 to 98 inches, Atmos, NQ4 AI Gen2, Real Depth Enhancer Pro and Quantum Matrix Technology, which according to the company “gives the screen impeccable contrast even in complex scenes.” This is also the first Pantone Validated display for color accuracy.

Lanseres also makes a series of “Glare-Free OLED,” TVs that are the first on the market, and with a self-explanatory brand name. These are also powered by the NQ4 AI Gen2 CPU, Real Depth Enhancer and OLED HDR Pro.

In addition, with features such as Motion Xcelerator 144Hz that ensure smooth movement and fast response rates, Samsung OLED is the ultimate choice for gaming. Complemented by elegant design, these OLED TVs elevate the space they stand in. Available in three models – S95D, S90D and S85D – from 42 to 83 inches, with a perfect fit for any home.

Smart functions

There are also major improvements with Tizen OS, the company’s own operating system, including automatic setup and connections:

“Samsung’s latest TVs are designed to connect to a smart ecosystem immediately after setup. The moment users turn on their new Samsung TV, the TV recognizes and connects to existing networks and devices, all orchestrated through a simple notification on users’ smartphones. This simple setup includes all Samsung devices at home, as well as third-party appliances and IoT devices, thanks to the compatibility with HCA and Matter. This eliminates the need for additional hubs, so everything from lighting to security sensors can be controlled directly from the screen.”

“Beyond connectivity, Samsung’s 2024 Smart TVs also provide a highly personal experience with the apps and platforms. With the latest addition of widgets, TV screens are now personal dashboards that allow users to easily monitor home status, camera feeds, energy usage, weather updates and more. Samsung is also introducing Samsung Daily+, a unified smart home platform that brings together a variety of apps, categorizing them into SmartThings and Workspace, both of which aim to elevate different facets of user lifestyles and home environments.”
Functions also include smart mobile as remote control, a function that is activated wirelessly with “Smart Mobile Connect.

“Additionally, users can now use their smartphones as game controllers with a customizable user interface (UI) and haptic feedback, offering convenient and enhanced gameplay at their fingertips.
