Coffee Stain Publishing has just unveiled the first game from developer Box Dragon. The title, which goes by the name As We Descend, is a roguelike deckbuilder that involves diving into the depths of the earth to ensure the survival of humanity.

As We Descend The game has a dystopian theme and takes players through a feudal urban landscape to make contracts, search for resources and fight dangerous monsters using units arranged in the form of cards with power, health and abilities.

Box DragonKevin Chang, who is credited as the game director for As We Descend, has stated: “It feels like just yesterday that we announced the existence of Box Dragon, and here we are over two years later, presenting what we’ve been working on all along. We’re thrilled to be able to start playtesting in our closed beta to contribute to to shape the evolution of our game We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we know we can make As We Descend an S-level roguelike deckbuilder with the help of passionate players who love this genre and are eager for something new and big .”

Box Dragon is a new developer made up of former Stunlock Studios and Riot Games veterans. While we don’t yet know the exact release date for this debut launch, As We Descend is slated to get a closed beta on PC soon, which players can register their interest in right now.
