WORKING LIFE: On Sunday morning, the mediation between Virke and Parat started at the Riksmekleren.

The mediation deadline has been set for midnight on Monday, after the parties have not agreed in the initial negotiations.

– The goal is agreement

According to a press release from Parat, there is a risk of a strike from Tuesday 30 April.

– We always enter into negotiations and mediation with the aim of reaching an agreement. During initial negotiations, however, it has not been possible to agree with Virke. We must get an agreement that increases the purchasing power of our members on the white-collar worker agreement with Virke, says head of negotiations for Parat, Thomas Lilloe, in a press release.

Virke also sent out a press release on Sunday morning;

– We enter into mediation with a desire to achieve good solutions. The goal is agreement on a responsible settlement and that we avoid strikes. We feel a responsibility to reach an agreement, both on behalf of our members and for Norwegian consumers. We take that responsibility seriously, says CEO of Virke, Bernt G. Apeland.

Takes out members in building materials companies

Parat also hopes that it will be possible to reach an agreement with the help of national mediator Mats Ruland.

If the parties do not agree, there will be a strike.

– Parat will withdraw members in a number of building materials companies across the country in the event of a strike. This will apply to businesses such as Byggmakker, XL-Bygg, Løvenskiold/Maxbo, Montér, Gustav Pedersen and Optimera, says Thomas Lilloe in Parat.
