West Ham confirm that David Moyes is finished at the club when his contract expires at the end of this season.

Moyes has been manager at West Ham for four and a half years. In that period, he has secured two top seven finishes in the Premier League, a semi-final and a quarter-final in the Europa League, and a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in last year’s Conference League.

It was West Ham’s first title since the FA Cup in 1980 and first European Cup triumph since 1965.

However, this season has become more difficult for West Ham, who are now, by all accounts, ending up outside Europe next season.

– I have really enjoyed working with everyone at West Ham, and I would like to thank the board for giving me the opportunity to lead this great club, says Moyes according to a press release from the club.

Chairman David Sullivan says Moyes has been responsible for a period of great progress and success in the club’s history.

The Athletic and other media have linked Julen Lopetegui to the West Ham job and there are many indications that the Spaniard will be Moyes’ replacement.
