Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Soccer | Zlatan opens up about family life: – Not a luxurious life

--

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has two children with his eleven-year-old girlfriend, Helena Seger. In a new interview with Anas Bukash, in the series “ABtalks”, he opens up about his family life, his football career and the loss of his agent, Mino Raiola.

Seger in particular gets a lot of mention in the podcast. Ibrahimovic describes that his partner means everything to him.

– If she hadn’t been eleven years older than me, she wouldn’t still be with me. She has had the patience to be with me through everything, in the beginning, she had a lot of patience, says Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish football star says that his girlfriend has given up a lot to be able to follow his life. The 42-year-old retired last year, but before that had a very rich football career. Among other things, he played for AC Milan, Manchester United and PSG. He has therefore moved around the world, both with and without Seger.

– She gave up her career for me. She gave everything to me and gave it all up. What can you give back then? I try to give back, but imagine giving up everything for another person. I am very grateful to her, says Ibrahimovic and describes his girlfriend’s role as a mother:

– She is a wonderful mother to our children. Everything changes when you have children. Before I was superman, but when they came into the picture I became a teddy bear.

Don’t live in luxury

In the same podcast, the former footballer says that the couple, who have teenage sons, do not necessarily live like billionaires. Despite the fact that he has wove into his sports career, he describes an ordinary life.

– We live as normally as possible, many may think that we live a luxurious life, but she cooks and washes clothes. The only thing we have help with is the house washing. I drive and collect the children from school and training. That’s how we want it to be.

Ibrahimovic remembers when the couple lived in Beverly Hills, when he played in the American MLS. Their neighbors sent their children to school with private drivers and several were practically raised by nannies. Ibrahimovic and Seger themselves drove and collected the children from school and training.

– A big loss

In addition to the tribute to his wife, another well-known name also appears in the podcast. The Swedish superstar is asked if he has someone close to him who has passed away, where the loss of that person still hurts.

Then he immediately mentions the agent, who was also involved in Erling Braut Haaland’s career.

– My manager, Mino Raiola. When he died it was a great loss for me, he was everything to me. He was a father, agent, friend and adviser. No matter what I did, he was there. When he was sick, he had too much ego and didn’t want to say he was sick. He didn’t want to show weakness.

Raiola died in 2022 and was the agent of several of the world’s best footballers.

– It was a big loss, I wasn’t ready for it. It went so fast. Suddenly I was alone, without him. I couldn’t share things with him anymore, we did everything together. He changed me as a person, he will always mean a lot to me.

Ibrahimovic currently works at his former club AC Milan.
