Antony scored, but United squandered two points

PAINFUL TO WATCH:

Manchester United struggled for a long time to break through, but when Antony intercepted a wrong pass from Sander Berge just over a quarter of an hour before the end, it looked like United would take all the points.

But once again the opposition scored from a late penalty and Burnley salvaged a point.

Manchester United opened the game best and created chances on a continuous basis in the first 20 minutes.

Christian Eriksen, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony all had good chances to send United into the lead, while Bruno Fernandes struck the metal with a cannonball.

Slowly but surely, the away team got better at the game and created solid chances to get a long-awaited goal to keep their hopes of survival in the Premier League alive.

Fortunately for United, Andre Onana was huge in the United cage, holding up with several solid saves.

The best of all came on a header from Lyle Foster from close range that most saw in the goal. Onana managed to throw herself around in the air and made a masterful save with an adventurous one-handed save.

After the break, United continued to create chances. Antony had two good opportunities, but Garnacho and Casemiro also had good shooting opportunities.

Antony intercepted an errant pass from Sander Berge and United finally found their way to the back of the net. United cheered and three points seemed fairly safe.

But then Onana went from hero to scapegoat when he entered an aerial duel far too late and the curse of late penalties against United seems to have no end in sight.

With three minutes remaining, Burnley equalized and it brought a frenetic end to the game, but United were never able to score again despite several opportunities in injury time.
