NORFOLK, Va. – With inclement weather expected in the area on Friday night, Old Dominion baseball’s Sun Belt series opener versus App State is being moved up to a 2 p.m. start at Bud Metheny Ballpark.

The Monarchs (26-21, 12-12 Sun Belt) dropped two of three games at Texas State last weekend and are coming off a 14-8 win at VCU on Tuesday night. They currently sit in seventh place in the conference standings and will round out the regular season at Georgia State next Thursday through Saturday, May 16-18. This weekend marks the programs’ final three games played at The Bud before construction begins on the Ellmer Family Baseball Complex. ODU will hold a graduation ceremony before Saturday’s game and a Senior Day ceremony ahead of Sunday’s first pitch.

The Mountaineers (28-16-1, 13-10-1) dropped their series opener versus South Alabama 9-5 last Friday, but won both games of a Sunday doubleheader 10-2 and 13-1. App State sits in fifth place in the Sun Belt standings and will host Georgia Southern to wrap up its regular season.
