Bothheim became an overtime hero when Tokmac saw red: – High temperature

--

Erik Botheim became the away team Malmö’s big hero when he scored the decisive 1-0 goal well into overtime.

– It was a very tough match with a high temperature. It was a grown-up, grown-up match and it was important to keep a cool head, says Erik Botheim to Discovery after the match.

– It’s delicious. Overtime scoring away to Djurgården, does it get any better than that? he continued.

In overtime, Malmö got a corner after a feverish save by Djurgården goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström. On the following corner, Bothheim was in the right place at the right time.

– The keeper made an absolutely insane save first there. I have to praise him for that, but then I knew I had to score on the next one, and when the ball came I scored, said a delighted Bothheim.

Hodemist by “Tokki”

As Bothheim said, it was a game with a high temperature and not the greatest scoring chances.

Not many minutes before Botheim decided the match, Djugården had been reduced to ten men after Norwegian Tokmac Nguen was sent off after pushing Malmö’s Derek Cornelius.

– He should have kept a cool head. You can’t be so angry that you react like that. It’s just unnecessary to put the team in this situation, said Discovery’s Swedish commentator.

– Incredibly stupid, he added.

Looking for pig tackle

Norwegian Oliver Berg came from Djurgården to Malmö before this year’s season, but he did not receive a warm welcome from his old teammates.

37 minutes into the match he had to give in with an injury after this pig tackle by Jacob Une Larsson.

Tobias Gulliksen also started the match for Djurgården. The 20-year-old joined the Stockholm team from Bodø/Glimt before the season. He has two goals and two assists in eight appearances for the club in both cup and series.

In March, “Tokki” transferred from Hungarian Ferencváros to Djurgården, where he scored two goals in four games.

Botheim also transferred to Malmö in February. So far, he has six goals and two assists in nine games for the blue jerseys.
