The extensive action outside an address in Dalane occupied much of the Sørvest police district’s available resources throughout Sunday afternoon. After several threats against the police from two well-known criminals over the weekend, it was decided on Sunday that the address should be searched.

– The background for the search was that threats were called in to the police. The police had to search the address and gain control, police attorney Erik Engløkk tells NTB. A person is charged with threats

When the police patrols arrived at the scene, however, they were unable to make contact with those who were there. Because of the threats, the police armed themselves before entering the address. But those inside would not open the door.

A neighbor at the scene told Stavanger Aftenblad that the police used both a drone and a megaphone in the attempts.

– We gave them countless orders. In the end, we had to go up a notch, says operations manager Irene Ragnhildstveit in the Sørvest police district to NTB.

The police eventually had to shoot tear gas through the windows of the address. Only then did they gain control of the two who were indoors, and were able to carry out the search. According to the police attorney, the address has been seized, but he will not say what has been found.

Both people who were at the scene were released shortly afterwards.

One of the two was charged with threats, but the police prosecutor considered that the person in question does not pose any danger to the public or that there is a risk of destroying evidence.
