Death, Lillehammer ice hockey club | Lillehammer player Alexander Reichenberg has died

--

Lillehammer Ice Hockey Club announces the following:

“It is with great sadness that Lillehammer Ice Hockey Club has today received the news of Alexander Reichenberg’s passing. Alexander has been one of Lillehammer’s biggest profiles throughout history, with a great international career as a professional in the Czech Republic, Sweden and Austria. He also has international matches for Norway from U18 to the A national team and represented Norway during the Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.

Alexander played the last three seasons for the parent club and last winter had his best season with 44 points in the regular season. He also became part of the captain’s team before last season.

For the club and the team, Alexander was a big profile, a player with an x-factor in his game and an important contributor to the group. He also used his international experience to motivate the team’s young players who were at the start of their careers. After the good season, which has just ended, Alexander received well-deserved attention from several big clubs in Norway and abroad. Of course, there was also an offer from the parent club on the table and he wanted to spend time evaluating a new professional offer abroad against a good life with work, club games and belonging to friends and colleagues at Lillehammer. It is unbelievably sad to think that he will never get to hear the audience’s tactful shouts in Eidsiva Arena and that we who sat in the stands will not get to see the player with the big smile, the extra feint or the hard hitting shot from the drop circle in the power play. Rest in Peace, No. 61»
