“Green” an above-average hobby-interested Tesla code-grapher, has revealed something interesting.
More than just music control
Because besides Amazon Music support offers 2024.14.3 on references to code that suggest the manufacturer is working on its own car AI. It makes a lot of sense all the while the company’s latest generations of cars have powerful AMD hardware that will be able to take over the processing when the car lacks network, or if the user prefers not to communicate with the cloud. It is conceivable that Tesla integrates Elon Musk’s Grok, i.e. the AI from X, but only to answer questions and talk, and not to control the AC and the like.
From the outset, Tesla offers “number commands:”
“Use voice commands for easy control of settings and preferences without using the touch screen. Voice commands are designed to understand natural requests. The following non-exhaustive list contains actions you can perform with voice commands:
- adjustment of climate preferences
- setting the speed and frequency of the windscreen wipers
- control of various functions in the car
- navigation to a location
- call a contact
- managing apps and settings”
There is currently no hint of Grok or launch time. Perhaps we’ll know more on August 8 when the company unveils its “Robotaxi.” A robust assistant will be important for communicating with the passengers.
