Rune Almenning Jarstein: – Leave: Confirms new club

--

– It will be as an outfielder on the sevens team. And maybe a bit on the A team if I’m good enough, Jarstein reports to Dagbladet.

According to the Norwegian Football Association’s transfer overview, the former national team goalkeeper has announced a transfer from Hertha Berlin to ski club Herkules.

The 39-year-old started his football career in Herkules. Now the ring is closed.

– I play where I am assigned to be. But I would like to play in a position where I can run a lot, so that I get a good training session. It will be fun, I’m looking forward to it, he says to Telemarksavisa.

Herkules’ A team plays daily in the fourth division, and has started the season with two straight losses. Jarstein is certain that he has not been brought in as a rescuer.

– I have mates there, so it’s a lot about keeping the social going. For now, it’s probably mostly about sevens football, and the B team of the old boys team, as I understand it. But maybe I can help a bit on the A team too? I trained with them on Saturday and gave myself a 2 roll after the session.

The 39-year-old put the shoes on the shelf in December. It happened after several years of media reports about a conflict with Hertha Berlin – the club he played over 150 games for.

In a large interview with Dagbladet, Jarstein did not hide that he had plans to continue even longer.

– I have wavered back and forth with myself. It has been difficult, but after what has happened, and after I was out since last autumn without being able to train with any team, it was tough to come back. This was not what I wanted. I had a goal to play until I was 40, Jarstein said.
