Many now expect that Amad Diallo will perhaps get the opportunity to start soon, and Erik ten Hag is not averse to the idea that the Ivorian has earned it.
– Amad deserves it, but don’t forget that he was injured for a long time this season. We have built him up again, and he has now had some opportunities, and has contributed properly, he answered questions about what Amad must do to get playing time from the start.
Amad has so far made six appearances for United this season, all coming on from the bench.
– We have several players in that position, there is a lot of competition there. I would say he already deserved more playing minutes, but we have to choose there, because we have Garnacho, and we have Omari Forson. With uncertainty surrounding several of United’s attacking players before Sheffield United come to visit, Wednesday’s game will probably be by far the biggest chance to see the 21-year-old from the start.
