On Sunday afternoon, the police announced that they are intensifying the hunt for at least two men who robbed the women.

The police went to a party in Sandefjord on the night of Saturday, following a report that two masked men with firearms had appeared.

The police inform NTB that there had been 15 adult women aged 40 to 60 at the party. The women are said to have been robbed of their phones, money and jewellery. According to the operations manager, the women speak neither Norwegian nor English, and the police therefore did not immediately perceive that it was a robbery.

– But gradually we understand that they are threatened with weapons. No one is said to have been physically injured, says operations manager Jan Kristian Johnsrud at the Søreast police district at around 6 o’clock on Sunday morning.

– It is currently unclear to the police whether the perpetrators have a relationship with the victims. Nevertheless, this is how the police assess the case, there is no reason for others living in the immediate area to be anxious about new incidents, says on-call lawyer Cecilie Reinskau Svorstøl in the Søreast police district in an update on Sunday afternoon.

Left on foot

The perpetrators left the scene on foot, but a witness saw them get into a car not far from the scene. So far, no one has been arrested.

The police have reported the matter and started an investigation.

According to Johnsrud, the police are working with technical investigations, but do not want to go into more detail about what they will be working on. They will also check whether anything has been caught on any surveillance cameras, and whether cars may have filmed something.

The police are now putting extra resources into the investigation. The victims involved will be questioned on Sunday, and investigations will be carried out in the immediate area. Among other things, the police will check whether anything has been caught by surveillance cameras, and whether cars may have filmed something.

– The police are still in an early phase of the investigation, and many leads are being worked on, and we also want tips from the public, says Svorstøl.

It may concern observations of people, cars and other activity in the area of Breidablikk in Sandefjord in the period from 2 to 4 am to Sunday. The police are asking for tips on 476 96 500.
