A foreign woman died after she fell from a mountain on Beitostølen on Friday night.

The woman has been located and confirmed dead by health personnel, the police say.
– A woman has been confirmed dead after she fell from a mountain. The next of kin have been notified and were in the area, says operations manager Øyvind Bakken in the Innlandet police district.
The woman is a foreign citizen.
Rescue helicopters, air ambulances, emergency services and volunteer resources were sent to the scene. The accident happened at Bygdin on Beitostølen in Vang municipality, according to the police. According to Oppland Arbeiderblad, the woman fell from Mefjellet.
The terrain in the area is described as steep and demanding.
There was a person in the area who alerted the police at 18.29 on Friday night. The person who notified was not part of the tour group.
– I do not have more information about the course of events that I can go out with. I have no more details there, Bakken told VG at 20.07 on Friday.
Efforts are being made to transport the woman away from the area. The place is a short distance from the road, Bakken states.
– Municipal crisis team has been notified to take care of relatives and others in the entourage, the police write.
