(Elbil24): Fisker is completely down for the count.

The other day the company was taken off the stock exchange, and yesterday it became known that the factory Magna Steyr has chosen to stop production entirely of the Fisker Ocean, which is the company’s only model.

With that, most people believe that it is now “game over” for Henrik Fisker’s company. Fisker has also put his staggeringly expensive villa up for sale.

A bankruptcy will put an end to everything that has to do with the new car warranty, and that it may be difficult or impossible to obtain spare parts for the car. Last week Carscoops wrote, among other things, about a Fisker Ocean owner who had received a small dent, where the insurance settlement ended up condemning the car due to a lack of spare parts.

Stops comprehensive insurance

Elbil24 has been in dialogue with several insurance companies who confirm that they will no longer offer comprehensive insurance for Fisker Ocean owners.

We learn from Storebrand that this applies to new designs, while those who already have a Fisker Ocean can continue their agreements. Gjensidige has also chosen to no longer offer comprehensive insurance, and according to the industry website Bilbransje24 (requires login) Tryg/Enter has also chosen the same solution.

The insurance companies therefore only offer liability insurance to Fisker Ocean owners, which then covers damage to others. Here, the insurance companies have a so-called contractual obligation.

Can cause loan challenges

In order to get a car loan, many financing institutions require that the car be comprehensively insured.

– We do not finance cars without comprehensive insurance, says Trond Nyhus, head of financing at Nordea, to the website.

When “no” insurance companies want to comprehensively insure the car, it will not be so easy to finance the car either, which in recent weeks has been sold at a heavily discounted price, but then without a guarantee.

There are also a handful of them at Finn. They will probably be hard-sold.
