The police still believe that the deceased were asleep when they were killed. According to the police, one of them slept with earplugs.

– This could be one of the explanations why the person in question did not wake up from gunshots, the police write in a press release.

On Wednesday morning, the police received the autopsy report in the case where a family of four was found dead in the small village of Torpo in Ål municipality in Hallingdal.

The test results show that the dead were not under the influence of sedative drugs when they were killed. According to the report, one of those killed slept on the top floor of the house, while the other two slept on the floor below.

Ingunn Slaatten (53) and her adult children Sander (22) and Signe (18) were found murdered in their own home on Saturday 23 March. The police believe Arne Slaatten shot and killed his family before taking his own life.

The police were notified when the daughter in the house in Torpo did not turn up for an appointment with her friends, VG has been told.

Arne Slaatten’s defender, Sidsel Katralen, does not wish to comment on the case now.

Have an idea about the motive

Police attorney Ann Iren Mathiassen tells VG that the police have an idea about a motive, but do not want to reveal it as long as the investigation is ongoing.

– Which weapon was used and who was it registered to?

– The weapon we believe was used has been sent to Kripos for investigations. Until we get confirmation that it is the weapon, we don’t want to say anything about it. He had legal access to weapons. It belonged to the family, says Mathissen.

– A void

Ingunn and her two adult children were buried in Ål church on Tuesday 9 April.

A bus was set up for the students at Torpo school, where Ingunn Slaatten worked as a teacher.

– There is a void, and it is strange to see Ingunn’s desk, with all the preparations she had made for the coming week, which she will never be able to use, said Kjell headmaster Arne Haavaldsen to VG.
