The Premier League confirms the decision.

Forest is thus still in 17th place with two league rounds remaining – three points ahead of Luton in the last relegation place.

– At least Nottingham Forest now have complete clarity on what they have to do to secure a third season in the Premier League, writes The Athletics Forest correspondent Paul Taylor.

Forest face Chelsea at home next Saturday, before they play away to Burnley in the last league round.

In March, the club was deducted four points for breaching the Premier League’s rules for sustainable financial operations.

In the report from an independent commission, the club was initially given six points, but due to the club’s cooperation in the matter, the penalty has been reduced to four points.

Forest must have spent 35 million pounds (464 million kroner) more than the permitted limit of the Premier League.

Earlier this season, Everton were deducted 10 points for similar infringements. The penalty was later reduced to six points after the appeal process.
