Windows 11 is not a disaster launch on the same level as Me and Vista, but Windows 10 is still clearly the largest in terms of market share and 11 is not even faster than the previous OS from 2015. In addition to all this, Microsoft is urging customers with hardware that cannot upgrade to Windows 11 to upgrade, because by October 2025, security updates will be over and done with.

So what can a poor Windows customer do, because the OS is paid for either at PC purchase or directly to Microsoft afterwards, do? The developer of the app stated to Tom’s Hardware the reason why she created the app, especially because she uses Arch Linux:

“Windows lost me a long time ago by adding more and more telemetry, ads and the lack of easily configurable options. As soon as the last few programs that I just can’t get away from running on Wine or Proton, I plan to drop it altogether.”
