The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is known for his fairly accurate predictions about what Apple is up to.

In his latest post on Medium, he writes that Apple has reduced deliveries of the Vision Pro glasses for 2024 from 800,000 units down to between 400,000 and 450,000.

Apple Vision Pro was launched in the US on February 2.

The fact that the company cuts production before they have released the headset in other markets means that demand on the American market has fallen sharply, Kuo believes.

The low demand may also mean that the planned upgrade of Vision Pro in 2025 will not materialize, he writes.

Deterrent price

According to reports, Apple sold 200,000 units in the first ten days after the headset became available for pre-orders.

The price of 3,500 dollars, in excess of 38,000 kroner, has however attracted attention, and contributes greatly to the fact that it is a niche product.

Difficult with VR

As with other virtual glasses, Apple Vision Pro has also been criticized for being large and bulky, and tiring to use for long periods of time.

Despite relatively good reviews, it seems that Apple is also unable to get the masses to flock to the stores. Other companies, such as Meta and Sony, have been selling VR glasses for a while without getting it right.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also points out that the real killer apps for Vision Pro are still missing.
