The police received a report from the main rescue center that a sailboat with 26 people on board had run aground at Rugholmen in Flatanger in Trøndelag. The police themselves reported the incident around 04.46 on Thursday night.

– The boat has a heel side, but stands firm. No injuries reported.

There is emergency preparedness at the casualty, evacuation with MS Råsa to Lauvsnes. The municipality has implemented emergency plans, the police write.

– This has been relatively calm all the way, says rescue manager Kjetil Hagen in the main rescue center to VG.

– The boat tipped a little, but no one was injured. There were 26 on board, among them 14 children. All but the captain and mechanic are over on the boat With Jr. and then with the fast boat MS Råsa into Lauvsnes.

– How were the weather conditions?

– They were nice, snow showers and flat seas. If it had been worse, it could have probably become a bit more problematic.

The casualty remains where he is for the time being since it is low tide, and will be tried to be rescued later. K

Operations manager Bjørnar Gaasvik in the Trøndelag police district tells NTB that the boat will have a larger list as the sea gets rougher.

– The evacuation took place without any drama. We expect that MS Råsa will be in Lauvsnes at 7 o’clock today. The evacuees will gather there at the Zanzibar Inn, he says.
