It costs both time and money to get a driver’s license. But it can be incredibly quick to lose it.

A young lady from Trøndelag has painfully experienced that. She drove up on Thursday this week. And she didn’t have the driver’s license for many hours before it was confiscated by Utrykningspolitet (UP).

It is Trønder-Avisa. who first wrote about the matter.

Appeared intoxicated

On Thursday evening, UP had a laser check in a 60-zone in Gevingåsen in Stjørdal. The new driver was measured at a whopping 86 km/h. That in itself is enough to lose your driver’s license, but it didn’t stop there.

– The driver appeared intoxicated, and had to go to the emergency room to give a blood test. Since she took the note yesterday, there was no driver’s license to confiscate, only a temporary driving licence. The girl consented to seizure, says operations manager Øystein Volden in Trøndelag police district, to Trønder-Avisa.

A kilometer too fast

86 km/h in a 60-zone is, moreover, exactly one kilometer too much for one to escape with a simplified notice.

Here the rule is that speeding offenses up to 25 km/h over the speed limit in a 60-zone will result in a summons.

If you drive faster than this, your driving license will expire.
