(Aftenbladet): This is stated by the Sør-West police district in a press release on Thursday morning.
– A girl on a scooter was transported by air ambulance to Stavanger University Hospital, but unfortunately her life could not be saved, says police attorney Helene Bergesen to Aftenbladet.no.
The accident at Pollestad in Orre in Klepp municipality was reported at 7.15pm on Wednesday evening.
The accident appeared serious, and the police stated that a child was seriously injured.
The girl must have been riding a scooter, and must have had a collision with a tractor on Pollestadveien. The person was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
The tractor driver, a boy under the age of 18, is charged with negligent driving.
– This happens automatically in such a serious accident. He is also temporarily deprived
the driving licence, says Bergesen.
He had not yet been formally questioned on Wednesday evening.
The road past the accident site was closed until just after 02:00 on Thursday night. Both forensic technicians from the police and the Swedish Road Administration’s accident team have investigated the scene.
The police prosecutor says that the investigation is underway, but does not yet want to say anything about the possible cause of the accident.
– It is too early to say anything about that, says Bergesen.
The police write in the press release that, for the sake of the investigation, the police do not want to release more information now.
