Trondheim is still keeping the pressure up in the new construction market, and with 146 new housing units sold in April, only Oslo could boast more sales (171), says Jørgen Rostad, head of new construction at Eiendomsmegler 1 Midt-Norge.
There were 10 sales launches last month and more than 200 units were added to the market.
– Several of the new projects were very well received, with a sales rate ranging from 10 to 65 per cent achieved at the start of sales. With a good offer at the bottom in Trondheim, this paves the way for continued high sales towards the summer, says Rostad in the update.
He says they have a good increase in sales of units that have a short time to completion, which he believes is perhaps what stands out more and more positively in the market as they see it now.
– The communication around the interest rate path is what we see as the biggest concern for the market in the coming months. If the individual chief economists’ predictions about a possible interest rate increase reach the general press to a large extent, we may experience a negative shift in the psychology of buyers. If the interest rate path and communication go more as expected, we expect a continued good new construction market in the future, says Rostad.
