Opened the city package project – varden.no

– The footpath gives us a safe and secure way to school, and a safe footpath for everyone walking through the centre. In addition, it has become very nice along the road, and the crossing to Gurholtveien has been improved, said the mayor of Siljan, Elisabeth Hammer, during the opening of the new pavement.

735 meter long pavement

Bypakke Grenland writes that Sentrumsveien, which is classified as a school road, has not been sufficiently arranged for pedestrians and cyclists.

Now they have a 735 meter long pavement, which will make it safer for soft road users.

– The urban package project had a budget of 14 million, and was completed for slightly less than this sum, explained Rune Sølland, community manager in Siljan municipality.

– Will make excursions more pleasant

On Wednesday, children from Sagaenga kindergarten were invited to join in the cord-cutting and celebration. So were representatives from Siljan secondary school, the Volunteering Center and other partners.

– The new pavement will keep the children safe and make outings more pleasant, said Karin Skifjeld Idris, kindergarten director at Sagaenga nursery school.

Bypakke Grenland states that Aktiv Veidrift AS was the contractor for the project.
