News, Fridalen school | The headmaster was met with a terrifying sight: – It’s just sad

--

When the cleaners locked themselves in at Fridalen school in the morning hours on Monday, they discovered that an unauthorized person had been inside the school during the weekend.

Principal Harald Borge got on his bike as soon as he was notified, and managed to visualize the extent of the damage along the way.

– It’s just sad and terrible to see, Borge tells BA about the sight that met him.

The school kitchen in particular was exposed to a good deal of vandalism, but the staff room was also affected. According to the principal, chocolate milk has also been stolen from a refrigerator.

– Otherwise, a lot has been destroyed. There is food that has been thrown around and chewed up, and lots of eggs everywhere on the walls.

Police station chief Lars Morten Lothe confirms that the police received a report of the break-in just after six o’clock in the morning.

– It probably happened during the night. Someone may have entered through a window and rummaged around in various rooms, making a mess and messing around. The police have been on the scene and carried out investigations, and then we will see what they show further, he tells BA.

BT mentioned this first.

Will take several days

The school has also been affected by break-ins in the past, but the headmaster feels that there have been much fewer after they started activity school in the afternoons.

– Then it’s sad when we have a break-in on the one day a week there are no people at school, says Borge.

The clean-up work after the incidents has started well, but will still take some time, says the headmaster. Especially in the school kitchen, it will probably take several days.

There will be some clean-up work. Both equipment used for food and health and for cooking at the after-school center has been destroyed. Those who serve the after-school food will now have to find alternative solutions to prepare the food, says Borge.

– What do the students think about what has happened?

– It is clear that the students are upset, they think it is stupid that someone destroys the school. And then they probably won’t have food and health this week, which is one of the nicest subjects they have.

Detective work

At the same time, the teachers in the first class have thrown themselves around and used the break-in as best as possible in their teaching.

– The students have been around the school doing detective work. They have collected evidence and had a plan in both Norwegian and other subjects, says Borge.

In the meantime, the principal is betting that they will soon clean up and air out the worst.

– But eggs smell really bad even if you wash them off. Inside the staff room, it still smells like beaten eggs, even though we have aired it out.
