(Newspaper Oslo) As of On 1 April 2024, leashing was introduced for dogs in Norway. It has been introduced so that dogs do not stress wild animals and to ensure safety, security, general peace and order.

I would say that the information on restraining orders is very good, but taking a walk in Oslomarka after 1 April shows that there are more people who do not care about maintaining the restraining order.

I think it’s very nice with dogs and other animals, but dog owners should be able to keep the dog on a leash for the sake of the fauna and other people who are on the trip. Not all dogs get along and it is safer to have the dogs on a leash to prevent them from attacking each other.

There are also people with allergies, who should not have direct contact with dogs and wild animals in the forest. They should be able to walk around Oslomarka without worrying about being chased by dogs.

Oslomarka has lots of beautiful roads and paths that are wonderful to walk on, and living rooms and DNT cabins that are great hiking destinations. I hope more people who walk their dogs can create a safe and secure trip for both people and animals.

Keep the dog on a leash!
