Janssen in Norway has carried out a previously announced name change and is now called Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.

– We are changing our name because it allows us to put an even greater focus on innovation and strengthen our work in solving the most complex challenges in health, says managing director Anne Sveaass in a press release.

– We have always been proud of our association with the Johnson & Johnson group. Now we are happy to finally, after more than 50 years, be able to unite the brand and the departments for medical equipment and pharmaceuticals under the same name, she adds.

The company must use Johnson & Johnson’s (J&J) graphic expression and mainly refer to itself as J&J. Only when there is a need to distinguish between the divisions will J&J Innovative Medicine be used. The medical device division will consistently be called J&J MedTech.

The legal name of J&J Innovative Medicine will continue to be Janssen-Cilag AS. All contracts, commitments, clinical trials and existing product portfolio remain unchanged, according to the press release.

Janssen Pharmaceuticals was founded in Belgium by Paul Janssen in 1953 and became part of J&J in 1961.
