– There have been some complaints about loud bass and about a couple of Russian buses that have driven past some houses. Apart from that, it has been very quiet in Sarpsborg and also in the surrounding areas, says operations manager at the police Finn Håvard Aas.

The police stopped several “streetmeets” in Eastern Norway

Late last night, the police stopped several so-called streetmeets, where races are organized. At midnight, the police had stopped this in Follo, Vestby and on the E6 at Støkken in Vestby, writes VG. On the latter, all traffic was stopped by the racers.

Earlier in the day, the police stated that they had stopped around 25 Swedish cars at Svinesund, cars that the suspects were on their way to a so-called street meet in Norway. During the night there were reports of “streetmeets” in Jessheim and Ullensaker.

Lots of noise in Bø on the night of May 1

Last night, the police asked parents to follow up on their children after there were many drunken underage youths in the center of Bø in Telemark. There were also a lot of cars gathered.

Two cars were expelled from the area – one for loud music and the other for rough driving in a crowded car park. The police also say that a man in his 20s was beheaded and that another man in his 20s is suspected of the relationship.

Gaza protesters arrested in New York

The police have arrested 30-40 pro-Palestinian demonstrators at Columbia University in New York. The university asks the police to be present for several weeks.

Television images show police officers wearing helmets and shields entering the university, which is located in upper Manhattan. Barely two hours later, the announcement came that the administration building Hamilton Hall, which had been occupied earlier in the day, had been emptied. According to AP, between 30 and 40 protesters have been removed from the building.

State of emergency in parts of Ecuador

Over 50 injured in collision in Los Angeles

55 people were injured, two of them seriously, when a light rail and a bus collided in the American city of Los Angeles. The accident happened along Exposition Boulevard, near the University of Southern California and the Natural History Museum, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

According to LA Metro spokesperson Dave Sotero, the bus crossed the tracks of the E line of the city’s metro service.

Georgian politician is said to have been beaten up

Levan Khabeishvili, who leads Georgia’s largest opposition party, is receiving medical attention after his party says he was beaten up during a demonstration against a controversial bill.

According to the Reuters news agency, pictures in the Georgian media show Khabeishvili with blood on his face and a black eye.

Measurement: Biden leads by 1 percentage point

President Joe Biden receives 40 percent support among registered American voters, according to Ipsos’ survey for Reuters. Donald Trump is at 39 percent.

The difference of 1 percentage point is, however, within the margin of error of 3 percentage points, the news agency points out. Governor: Three killed in Russian attack

Three people have been killed and a further three injured in a Russian rocket attack on the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa, the governor of the area says.

According to Governor Oleh Kiper, the attack has caused damage to civilian infrastructure.

The settlement for 6,000 lecturers for mediation

The academics broke off the negotiations in the municipal sector last night, about four hours after the deadline at midnight. The academics report that there have been demanding negotiations and believe that KS has shown little willingness to meet them.

The academics negotiate salaries centrally for around 6,000 lecturers. The settlement now goes to mediation with a deadline of 23 May at 24:00.

Breakdown in the collective bargaining agreement in Oslo – could lead to a strike

Last night there was a breakdown in the collective agreement negotiations between Oslo municipality and the four negotiating associations LO Kommune Oslo, Unio, Akademikerne and YS.

Oslo municipality is a separate tariff area. The settlement now goes to mediation. If the parties do not reach an agreement by 24:00 on 23 May, there will be a strike in Oslo municipality from the beginning of the working day the following day.
