Measurement: More young women are leaving the left

According to the Opinion survey created for FriFagbevegelse and Dagsavisen, Høyre and Frp have 47 percent support among women between 18 and 24. For women between 25 and 29, the parties have 38 percent support.

The figures are bad news for the Labor Party and differ significantly from the election results in 2023, according to election researcher Johannes Bergh at the Institute for Social Research.

– In the local elections, it was primarily young men who voted for the Conservative Party and FRP, while young women swore to Ap and SV. Now these women have left Ap and SP and applied to Høyre and Frp, says Bergh to FriFagbevegelse.

– It is very interesting that the image of a right-wing wave with women is as clear as it is now. I have not seen any similar numbers before, he says.

Fpu leader Simen Velle is satisfied with the measurement.

– There has been speculation over the past six months that I only appeal to young men. That is why it is extra delicious and good news for us that there is such a broad and large measurement that confirms what is the truth, says Simen Velle.

AUF leader Astrid Hoem, for her part, calls the figures discouraging.

The survey was conducted from October 2023 to April 2024 with 7,000 respondents.
