Opening of the day trip cabin at Nuten today

Leisure time: Haugesund also has a day trip cabin on Vibrandsøy which opened in autumn 2022.

– We strongly believe that the day tour cabin at Nuten will be a popular destination for young and old alike, says volunteer coordinator Ingvild Bjerkeland, who has invited both kindergarten groups and pupils from Austrheim school to take part in the opening.

– Nuten is already a popular trip destination, the school, the kindergartens and people in the local area are good at visiting, and now they can also visit the new nice day trip cabin there, she says.

Like day trip cabins

The new cabin on Nuten is similar to the first one on Vibrandsøy, with a wood stove and a small
library.

Haugesund municipality has a cooperation agreement with Haugesund Tourist Association regarding supervision of the cabin.

It will be open all year round.

Access to the day trip cabin at Nuten is via the footpath from Skokland, from the footpath at Tjelltjørn and via the two footpaths that go up behind the stables at Bleikemyr.

Welcome to the opening party

At the opening at 12.00 there will be a cord cutting, speeches and a celebration of that cabin, and everyone is most welcome!
