During the Bergen City Marathon on 27 April, Bryggen, Torget and Strandkaien will be closed to traffic. Other streets will also have reduced accessibility.

On 27 April, Turn og Idrettsforeningen organizes the Viking Bergen City Marathon.

These streets are closed

  • The wharf will be closed to all traffic from Saturday 27 April at 04:00 until 16:00.
  • Slottsgaten/Festningskaien/Sjøgaten (up to Sandviksveien) will be closed to all traffic from 07.55–11.00.
  • Sandviksveien (from the traffic lights at the petrol station to Gjensidigegården, no. 58-65): Periodically closed to all traffic between 08.05-08.20 and 09.30-10.25. Between 07.55-11.00 traffic is directed from the north up Sandviksveien.
  • The square is closed to car traffic on Saturday from 04:00 to 16:00.
  • Strandkaien is closed to all traffic on Saturday from 08.30 to 14.30.
  • Møllendalsveien will be closed to traffic from 10.30am to 1.15pm.
  • OJ Brochs gate / Thormøhlensgate will be closed to traffic between 09.00 and 13.00. An alternative route is via the Nygårdstunnelen–Danmarksplass.

Other streets on the trail will also have reduced access and will be periodically closed to traffic. You can find a full overview of affected streets and alternative detour routes on the Bergen City Marathon website.
