– There is an offended person who was approached at home and subjected to what we believe is a robbery, police attorney Jarle Vist told VG on Friday evening.

Motorists were greeted by dramatic scenes on the E18 on Thursday night.

Photos and videos from the scene showed a huge police presence, after the South-Eastern Police District had notified the Oslo Police about a car “on the run” after a robbery in Lier.

– The police were armed because there was an assumption that the police could encounter someone who was armed, said operations manager of the Oslo police Bjarne Pedersen to VG.

On Friday, police attorney Vist states that the victim is a man in his 20s. He is not a random victim.

– They know who each other is. There was probably a pretext, but I can’t go into it now.

The man is said to have been threatened, and possibly subjected to violence, says Vist. He is not seriously injured.

– He is doing well. But he has been exposed to this, and is of course affected by it.

Three people were arrested on E18 on Thursday. They have now been released, according to Vist.

They are all still charged with robbery.

It was Drammens Tidende that reported the release first.
