Trump stared straight ahead as Daniels entered the courtroom. As she approached the witness box, he turned his head slightly in her direction.

Daniels began by telling about a difficult upbringing and how, at the age of 21, she became a nude model and later an actress in a number of porn films.

Eventually, the prosecutor began asking questions about her meeting with Trump at a golf tournament in 2006. Daniels claims the two had sex in a hotel that same night, which Trump denies.

– It was a very short meeting, Daniels said in court, according to CNN.

Daniels was present at the tournament as a representative of a porn company. In court, she joked that the company sponsored one of the holes on the golf course – but the jurors did not laugh.

Donald Trump is charged with breaching the Accounting Act in connection with a payment of 130,000 dollars, just over 1.4 million kroner, to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

The payment took place just before the presidential election in the United States in 2016. The aim was allegedly to prevent Daniels from going to the media with her claim that she and Trump had sex ten years earlier.

Trump is the first former president in US history to be indicted in a criminal case.
