Teenager shot: Report of settlement

Denies criminal liability

The eldest brother will be produced for remand in Oslo District Court on Friday afternoon. As far as Dagbladet is aware, he should not have a previous criminal conviction.

– I do not wish to comment on the case now, says his defender, lawyer Håkon Marius Skaue Svendsen.

The youngest brother has been released after questioning. He denies criminal guilt for the charge, defender Elin Grinde previously told Dagbladet.

The four other people who are currently charged in the case also deny guilt. Two of them were detained on Wednesday last week, while the other two have been released.

Police theory: Revenge action

The police believe that the shooting on Monday evening was a settlement in a criminal youth environment.

According to Dagbladet’s information, the police believe that the motive may be a planned act of revenge as a result of a conflict between the victim and at least one of the accused.

The man who was shot is among those accused of a kidnapping case in Fetsund in Romerike last August, according to Dagbladet.

According to Romerikes Blad, two of the Bryn accused have been offended in the same case.

– The police are beginning to get a better overview of the course of events, and link the act itself to a conflict in a youth environment. We see it in connection with previous lines of conflict in this environment. An important part of the investigation is to map these conflicts against the incident, both in terms of roles and motives, said police prosecutor Henrik Rådal after the provisionally last arrests became known on Thursday.

Reactions from criminals

Dagbladet has previously mentioned the Fetsund case, where four people – two of them underage boys – are said to have been threatened and abducted to an industrial site, where they are said to have been subjected to serious violence.

The incident has caused attention among criminals in Oslo and in Romerike. Among other things, people in the Young Guns milieu must have reacted strongly to what happened in Fetsund, according to Dagbladet’s sources.

Even notified the police

It was the offended man who himself notified the police that he had been shot at Bryn. He suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The police have not yet found the weapon that they believe was used to commit the shooting. They have not ruled out further arrests in the case.

– At the present time, it is a bit too early for the police to say anything clear about the motive, beyond the fact that we have formed a picture of what the motive is, and that there are several lines of conflict that go back in time, Rådal has stated.
