The Chinese love the luxurious commercial vehicles. More and more of them are now coming to Norway.

BEIJING (Engine): Voyah has already started selling the Dream.

Volvo has shown off the EM90, albeit not for Norwegian customers.

And now Xpeng is considering taking the plunge with the X9, one of their biggest attractions at the Beijing Motor Show.

Norwegian CEO Claes Persson will not guarantee a launch in Norway, but has already started calculating the price.

– Perhaps somewhere between 850,000 and 890,000? he smiles.

“A new level”

Xpeng has had success with the G9 in Norway and is preparing to launch the slightly smaller G6 this summer.

But it is tempting to test a new car class.

– This is something new, simply luxury on a whole new level, says product manager Morten Maastad.

Pulls 2000 kg

The car is 530 cm long (with four-wheel drive on 22-inch wheels) and has a load space of over 2,800 litres, with the rear seats folded down. At the exhibition there was a version with five racing bikes behind the front seats – see below.

According to Maastad, the version now on display will have a range of around 550 km. The engine power is 550 hp. The X9 comes with four-wheel steering and is delivered with six or seven seats.

– And to the delight of Norway, it comes with a hitch that can take up to 2,000 kg, says Claes Persson.
