Local news, Brevik | Here they have bookings several years ahead: – Everyone mentions the dance floor

--

About two years ago, they discovered that the iconic farm, which previously housed a dentist, bank, bookshop and grocery store, and today Sanderød Sport og Fritid, was in disrepair.

Somewhat spontaneously, they decided to go for a viewing, and quickly discovered the many possibilities the old building has. The building contains seven rental units, in addition to which they renovated the function room in the attic. Now they have bookings several years ahead in time for both birthdays, baptisms, Christmas parties and other celebrations.

– Our focus now is the party room. Here it’s good to push, and we have several bookings several years ahead. It’s already filling up with Christmas parties, says Oda Sofie Hoppestul, who previously runs Oda Sofie’s Ice Bar at Fisketorget and is active in the charity.

Kept the dance floor

Hoppestul feels that gatherings have picked up again after the corona.

– There has been more rental here in the party premises than I had expected. It’s a lot of fun and we’re happy that we can keep the lights on in the party room, she smiles.

With simple steps, the old bank loft has been given a new look, a new floor and a bit of paint was all that was needed.

– I am happy to paint and keep at it, and then there is not much that is needed. The most important thing for people is that it is functional and practical. This is a family business and everyone has contributed, says Hoppestul.

– I have spoken to many people who remember well when there was a party room here in the past. Everyone mentions the dance floor. I’m very happy that we chose to keep it, and I think everyone else who remembers it from the past is happy too.
