Caroline Graham Hansen has a strain in her right thigh and will miss Norway’s games against Finland and the Netherlands. It is not clear if Frida Maanum can play.
This is stated by the Norwegian Football Association in a press release.
Linköping player Cathinka Friis Tandberg is brought in as a replacement for Graham Hansen, who suffered a minor thigh injury in the weekend’s match for Barcelona.
– Based on the dialogue between our medical teams, this appears to be an injury that will not be long-lasting, and we hope Caroline will be back for Barcelona hopefully for the next game already, says national team coach Gemma Grainger.
Graham Hansen has 105 games and 46 goals for the Norwegian A national team.
Maanum collapsed on the pitch in Arsenal’s final win over Chelsea in the League Cup on Sunday. Only on Friday will a final decision be made regarding the 24-year-old ahead of the upcoming international matches.
– The medical apparatus at Arsenal wants to do some further observations and tests on Thursday. We are in dialogue with both Arsenal and Frida and are following the situation closely. The players’ health will always come first, says Grainger.
After the match against Finland on Friday, Norway will face the Netherlands away on 9 April. The two matches are the start of the EC qualification. Italy is also in the group stage.
The EC will be played in Switzerland in July 2025. Norway has qualified for 21 EC and WC finals in a row.
