It was 25-year-old Agnieszka Anna Brozyna who died in a drowning accident at Brufjell in Flekkefjord in Agder on Sunday 24 March, the police state in a press release.

She is a Polish citizen. Her partner, 25-year-old Lukasz Jan Trusilo, is still missing. He is also a Polish citizen.

The two were cohabitants, living in Stavanger.

No eyewitnesses

The names are released in consultation with the next of kin, the police write.

– The investigation so far shows that there have been no eyewitnesses to the accident itself. The police cannot therefore say anything for sure about how the two victims ended up in the water. However, there is nothing to indicate that this is anything other than an accident with the worst possible outcome, says police station chief Liv Versland Seland in the Agder police district.

They write that a large area around the accident site was searched in connection with the rescue operation on Sunday evening and night.

– It is now being considered whether and in the event when a search is to be launched for the presumed death, says Seland further.

Flew to hospital

There were a total of four people in the tour group. The police questioned the other two in the entourage.

The rescue helicopter and emergency services moved out on Sunday after reports of people in the sea outside Flekkefjord.

Brozyna was then picked up and flown to Haukeland hospital, while her partner was not found.

The operations manager already told Dagbladet on Sunday 24 March that they considered the chance of survival to be small, but that they continued the search nonetheless.
